Issue Analysis

Often in a major Construction Project or Program with multiple Sub-Projects, Issues occasionally span multiple Sub-Project or Project Updates. In this environment, Global Activity Codes are often used to construct Activity Codes intended to be use across multiple Projects.

In Zümmer, the Issues Module allows the Scheduler to easily produce reports that can group Projects for a given Global Code Item assigned to this module. To use the Issues Module, a Global Activity in the P6 System must first be assigned to the Issues Module. To do this, access the Code Assignment Window from the Settings Main Menu option.

Click on the Issues pull-down menu to display and to select the Global Activity Code Item that is used to list “Issues” items.

The Pull-Down Menu displays all Global Activity Codes in the P6 System. It is not necessary for the Global Change Item description to be named “Issues”. For example, “Changes” or “Disputed Item” is often used in the Project environment.

Once the Global Activity Code is selected, the Issues Module is ready for use. This setting is saved for all Issues printing in future Ƶümmer session until changed by the user.

A Project ID and Issue is selected. In the Issues Pull Down menu, a specific Issue can be selected, or you can click on the “All” checkbox to indicate all Issues are selected.

Once the Project ID and the Work Order ID options are selected, the available reports listed can be moved over to the Selected Reports Listbox for Previewing or Printing.

The Issues External Logic report is a subset of the Issues Logic Detail report and lists only those relationships that extend into another Issues.

This report lists those external relationships for activities that are assigned to a Selected Issues value or all Issues if “All” is selected in the Issues Module. In this example, “ALL” was selected for the Issues selection options while the selected Project ID is TST-BL1-UP02 in the Issues Module.

The report lists all assigned activities including the Activity ID, Activity Name, Original Duration, Remaining Duration, Start date, Finish date and Total Float.
