Cost Analysis & Comparison
Cost management is the process of comparing forecasted cost against actual costs. No project can be successful without controlling costs.
The Cost Module uses the same reports that are listed on the Analysis and Comparison modules. The Cost module isolates the cost items for easier access.

Tracking Percent Complete between Cost and Duration is a great way to monitor overall Project progress and to proactively spot & resolve anomalies. In large construction projects where the CPM schedule is resource cost loaded, it’s likely to have an independent Cost Engineer and Schedule Engineer. This makes developing and maintaining expense and schedule data even more complicated.
These Reports summarize the detailed cost items by Activity ID and are sorted by Activity ID. The Variance calculates the difference between the Cost % Complete and the Schedule % Complete. The Activity Line item is highlighted when the variance to % Complete is more than 50 points.

Activities where the total Cost % Complete exceeds the Schedule % Complete.

Easily identify cost overruns on individual activities.
Manage problems before they get out of control.

Keeping resource cost and schedule status in-sync can be a nightmare even in moderate sized CPM Networks.
Keeping cost data up to date is essential for managing your project costs.

Keep track of resource costs to date that are less than the schedule duration value.

These Reports summarize the detailed Resource Cost items by Activity ID and are sorted by Activity ID. The Variance
calculates the difference between the Resource Cost to Date and the Schedule Duration Value. The Activity Line item is
highlighted when the Schedule Duration Value is Zero.

For Owners approving payment applications, pay request line items should be substantiated when the Cost To-Date
exceeds the Duration Value.
For Contractors submitting payment applications, consider increasing the Cost To-Date value to match the Duration Value.

and maintaining the cost and schedule making this effort even more complicated.
