Oracle P6 is arguably the best high end scheduling package available today. Heavily used in all forms of construction and large projects worldwide. It excels in projects with lots of activities and with programs that merge and coordinate multiple schedules to achieve a single goal.

When thousands of activities and multiple schedules are involved the reporting and management become a daunting task because most managers us the layout feature to create the reports they need. The problem with layouts is it is hard to manage hundreds of them, and they can be erased with a single mouse click. P6 also has a report writer that generates monochrome reports and has some limits. P6 also comes with a schedule publishing package called Visualizer that is very functional, but our experience is that it is not heavily used.
